danbri_: Worth taking a look at, if you've any interest in geo-tagged RSS, travel itinary description, and separation of style from data content. The geometry aspects are, I believe, heavily GML-inspired. But it has a lot of UI/Style markup too, which might bind your content a little too close to the G.E. viewer.
