danbri_: News spreads to Germany

danbri_: Idea is that you could query RDFWeb (via SOAP using RDFAuthor if feeling fancy) for the channels that were foaf:made by persons matching some or other criteria.

mnot: This is a great metadata interface (see also: iTunes). I'd love to see RDF interfaces like this...
mnot: Even more interesting, iPhoto appears to understand dublin core metadata in the comments (a la rdfpic), or at least can extract the datetime from them; if I import a photo with rdfpic metadata embedded, it will prefer the date in dc:date over the file's stat() timestamps!
mnot: Unfortunately, I can't find any docs regarding iPhoto's treatment of metadata.
AaronSw: Yeah, I'd love to have XML export so I can move the stuff in iPhoto straight to my website.
AaronSw: They did a lot right: allowing files to exist in multiple folders, providing for easy search and classification, etc.
libby: it's cute, but I want extensible metadata
libby: searching's no fun without 'foaf:depiction'

dmiles: JavaDoc http://216.39.172.56/javadoc/
dmiles: loopy explaination :) http://logicmoo.sourceforge.net
dmiles: that site is VERY out of date
dmiles: will be updating it all to the new code this week
dmiles: This is a Java based MOO/MUD based on a 1-to-1 serization to XML.. now.. but tio RDF/DAML shortly
danbri_: java and logic moo links: javadoc, sourceforge writeup.
dmiles: inspired by http://ilrt.org/discovery/2001/03/rdf-moo/
dmiles: there is a bot on OPN Irc server sometimes called 'jamudirc' that when messaged will connect you to the MOO telnet server

danbri_: "Most site maps fail to convey multiple levels of the site's information architecture. In usability tests, users often overlook site maps or can't find them. Complexity is also a problem: a map should be a map, not a navigational challenge of its own."
danbri_: "The greatest failures in our study came from site maps that attempted to lure the user into a dynamically twisting and expanding view"...
danbri_: I just sent a brief note to www-rdf-interest on this. A lot more people read that than #rdfig, and I've been forgetting to hang out there lately.
