bitsko: With an adaptation of Dave Beckett's IRC schema as an IRC in RDF Protocol example.
bitsko: Python reference implementation to follow shortly.
bitsko: Note that in RDF Protocol, nearly every protocol facet is specified seperately. When taken together into protocol-clusters, you can re-use protocol components.
bitsko: For example, replication properties are shared between IRC and, say, NNTP-like RDF protocols.

dajobe: All I know about X and fonts I learnt from this

dajobe: Presentationa t WWW9 in Amsterdam, 2000

dajobe: I made this at my previous job

edd: They've used the old RSS 0.9 vocab and added their own stuff into it
edd: someone from RSS 1.0 really ought to get in touch and join up these two efforts.
edd: I've sent a mail to both groups to encourage such a thing.
dajobe: I'm interested in using RDF + DC to describe (linux) software (packages), I've done it before
dajobe: What is the relation to the http://rpmfind.net/ by Daniel Veillard, also using RDF for linux packages RPMs?
edd: Well, their usage of RDF appears to be to carry a news channel which appears in the startup screen. From what I can tell from initial appearances, it's not being used for packaging.
edd: It seems to be able to understand native Redhat and Debian packaging lists and formats.
dajobe: I meant above Rpmfind service by Daniel Veillard

bitsko: A simple script that accepts POST and GET requests for ISBN-based URLs containing RDF and Dublin Core info.

jonb: |IPsec Charter
jonb: "Rapid advances in communication technology have accentuated the need for security in the Internet. The IP Security Protocol Working Group (IPSEC) will develop mechanisms to protect client protocols of IP. A security protocol in the network layer will be developed to provide cryptographic security services that will flexibly support combinations of authentication, integrity, access control, and confidentiality"

edd: "The mission of this Working Group (WG) is to develop a process for encrypting/decrypting digital content (including XML documents and portions thereof) and an XML syntax used to represent the (1) encrypted content and (2) information that enables an intended recipient to decrypt it."
edd: Here's the charter

edd: An interesting piece of COM/XML related history
jonb: historical (the jabr.ne.mediaone.net server has been taken away by ATT)

sbp: SemEnglish is semantic English - that is English with unambiguous semantics.
edd: May I suggest that's a lofty goal.
hector: What's an "unambiguous semantics"?
hector: Does anyone read Leibniz anymore?
sbp: Works fairly well in practise, from what I can tell... unambiguous semantics = triples
sbp: Leibniz?
edd: Hmmm. I have this big problem with "English" and "unambiguous"
sbp: What about Triples/URIs and unambiguous?
hector: I'll note that those who don't read up on prior art and prior thought are doomed to dorkiness.
jonb: natural language is as precise as logic - take that!
hector: Which logic?
jonb: 'tis to say - if you think anything or any logic is umambiguous you are mistaken
