danbri: Er, well mapreduce

LeeF: Query, Update, Protocol, HTTP RDF Update, Service Description, Entailment
LeeF: Lots of work still to do, but this should give a fair idea of where we're heading
danbri: Congrats on shipping these :)

melvster: Cornell University and a handful of other schools have been awarded $12.2 million to build a social/collaborative network for scientists and researchers
melvster: It will also exploit concepts of the Semantic Web, Tim-Berners Lee’s vision for an even more useful Web that enables better sharing of data.

Anchakor: This is to be published in quite well known czech web developer webzine (maybe tomorrow), so please comment

danbri: There are also moz demos using video around somewhere
danbri: If only there was a gigantic training dataset available, ..., ....

danbri: Temporarily offline, but here via archive.org
libby: ruby version of the pathfinder code

mhausenblas: LDOW09 paper

DanC: left to right: Joseph Hardin (NCSA), Robert Calliu (sp?), TimBL, DanC

danbri: It's time has come. Help needed!
danbri: From before FOAF was called FOAF, but the RDF Web ring ...
danbri: I got an idea in Hong Kong...
danbri: "While taking too many photos in hong kong, i had an idea i want to bookmark for integrating the image metadata with the six-degrees thing. it doesn't require any new vocab, although more terms might be useful. "
danbri: "idea is to represent paths through rdfweb space (from person to person) via images that foaf:depict two or more people. "
danbri: "eg i have a picture that depicts libby and me; one with me and chaals; another with chaaals and eric. and so on."
danbri: "same goes for videos (once I get some way of turning my camera's quicktime into mpeg...). i thought it would make for some nice and highly visual demos. and i got most of the code to do it... "
danbri: "so there you go. one for the when-its-finished list :) "
danbri: Er yeah, finished... :)
libby: only 8 years old!
danbri: I'll ask Flickr guys about possibility of RDFa/FOAF in the people pages. I did visit them last year and talk about this, they were concerned to get all the privacy, user experience, retraction machinery in place. It's not clear to me how to handle multi-site retractions so API could be tricky.
danbri: Libby, is all your old code in svn?
libby: no, but if we can find damian's writeup that explains it better than my code I should think
